A Sew-Along with Liberty Tana Lawn

Happy to get my sewing mojo back after a long hiatus. All thanks to a little push and great company of Jasmine from Applelulu Crafts. We have know Jasmine for awhile now. Some of our customers have also attended her bags crafting workshops. Jasmine recently introduced a basic apparel sewing session and we decided to get together for a sew-along.

I arrived early at Applelulu Craft’s studio at Edgedale Plains and was greeted by an excited welcome from Jasmine’s two cutest Shihtzus. We got to work soon after. I brought along Liberty’s Harvest TIme and Wandering prints - both featuring aesthetic non-directional repeats that I felt will be great for an easy sew..

Jasmine was attracted to the Wandering print and I worked with Harvest Time. Over, the next two hours we cut fabrics, overlocked them, ironed and stitched up the two simple Tenugui Shikakui tops.

Soon we were done and eagerly tried on the tops. We love the flow and the fluidity of the tops and were most pleased with the outcome.

Tenugui Shikakui is an easy sew as it does not involve any drafting and Liberty Tana Lawn is perfect for this design as the soft, silk-like fluidity of the fabric shows off the beautiful natural flow of this pattern.
